Re: Covid and paruresis
Hi All, Yes Covid has presented some unique challenges. I have been fairly reclusive up until now, being over 50 and classed as immunocompromised due to Rheumatoid Arthritis, have been a bit scared to go out- which doesn’t help with a social anxiety and physical disorder. Generally I go pretty well ...

Re: My Experience With Paruresis
I guess there are ways of relaxing. Either with medication, self talk as in what will happen if i don't go? nothing. Gradual exposure will lessen the anxiety of going. The other part is if a workmate knows youre in the cubicle not urinating what's the worst he could say? what are you doing in there...

Re: My Experience With Paruresis
Hi All, I’m a 37 year old guy who has suffered with Paruresis fir as long as I can remember. I guess it goes hand in hand with the Social Anxiety Disorder. I’ve made some progress with the Paruresis recently, which is great although I have a long way to go. I use urinals most of the time now but on...

Re: Newcastle/ Hunter areas - local practice and pee buddies
Hi Derek Nice to meet you at the annual workshop. It's always great to meet people with the same predicament and to be encouraged by the progress that happens at these workshops. I'll let you know when I'm next heading up to Newcastle for a couple of days and hopefully we can find time to practice....

Re: Cross roaD
Yes, of course. Practising is the key to eventual recovery. The more often, the sooner that recovery will come. And doing it with the cubicle door open is a good idea. It’s what plenty of non-paruretics do all the time, even in preference to many wall bowls being available. You will know that only ...

Newcastle/ Hunter areas - local practice and pee buddies
Hi all, Been a while since I posted, going to another Sydney workshop in 2 weeks. Just been down to my local shopping centre today, nearly all are bowls with dividers now, and with 2 opposite walls you can get quite some distance to other urinators. Normally can go most of the time if heavily fluid ...

Re: Advice from a friend
I recently told a close friend about my paruresis he said to me to count 5 white things in the toulet i found this interesting. This is known as the "distraction technique". Even non-paruretics occasionally have some urinary hesitancy, and this usually works for them. (I have seen others make comme...

Re: Changing careers.
Strangely, I changed careers just over a decade ago, to the most AP friendly job on the planet - your own office, with own lockable bathroom, and with own shower and lockable single cubicle toilet within this. The normal workers there have to use communal facilities, and with "set breaks" - similar ...
