Hi guys, i have had a shy bladder aslong as i can remember. Unsure of how it began or what caused it. It hasnt been until my later years that it has really affected me and caused problems with going out etc etc, you know what i mean if your reading this. Im at a point where i have had enough of it controlling my life and missing out on lots of opportunities!. When i do research on shy bladder it always comes back to "exposure therapy" or a "pee partner". If there is any guys from adelaide that are in the same position as me and want to get control over this phobia/fear once and for all, please contact me🙂.

Trying to analyse what caused it and pinpoint exactly when it started is a waste of time, as it is a result of poor conditioning more than anything.
Psychologists often look for deep rooted causes, which is a red herring imo, and overthink the situation.
For the record mine started in mid primary school, and got worse and noteworthy as a real problem once I had to change schools for the start of Year 5 from memory, back in the bad old days of the catholic school system when the boys had to leave primary school at the end of Year 4, and into a prep/ junior high school type of situation.
It can start at any age, but usually childhood to adolescence.
As stated, I look at it purely as a poor conditioning disorder, as the condition perpetuates itself.
No point on reflecting on lost opportunities either, it is what it is.
The only way is to literally "flood" the disorder with fluid loading and practice sessions in gradually more difficult situations, and improvements can be made or even cured in some cases.
Good luck with the Adelaide group.
